About Me

I am beginning my second year as principal at Wiscasset High School, a small public school in rural Maine.  I was assistant principal for one year before taking on this role.  I am grateful to have survived these first couple years in administration and eagerly looking forward to shifting from survival mode to something more reflective and proactive.

Although this blog will focus largely on my professional life, my perspective can not be separated from my personal life.  I am the proud mother of a wonderful eleven-year-old boy who seems to grow an inch every day and who often acts as a mirror reflecting my own insecurities and confusion about life’s mysteries.  I am also step-mother to a delightful twenty-three-year old young woman who constantly amazes me with her maturity and grounded nature.  I share these delightful young people with my husband – a man who has taught me grace, patience, and the power of humor as he daily faces the grief and challenges that come with a chronic and progressive disease.

In my spare time, I run (slowly but always forward), hike, read, and play at being eleven with my boy.
